 Longevity Tests

Understand your cardiovascular risk at a deeper level

Cardiovascular health extends far beyond total cholesterol. True risk lies in the quality, oxidation, and metabolic behaviour of lipoproteins, as well as in how genes, nutrients, hormones, and inflammation interact to affect vascular resilience.

At Essencia Wellbeing, advanced cardiovascular testing offers early insights into inflammation, lipid oxidation, and metabolic imbalance — helping you take proactive steps to protect your heart, circulation, and long-term vitality.

Popular cardiovascular & multi-system profiles

LIPOSCREEN® LDL Subfractions & Oxidised LDL + HDL Subfractions

This advanced cardiovascular profile goes beyond standard cholesterol testing to assess the composition and function of LDL and HDL particles. By measuring LDL subfractions, oxidised LDL, and HDL functionality, it provides a clearer picture of lipid balance, inflammation, and cardiovascular risk - guiding targeted nutrition, lifestyle, and preventive care strategies.

OMX – Organic Metabolomics

The OMX test provides an advanced metabolomic assessment of cardiovascular and metabolic function. It maps the biochemical flow of energy production, amino acid balance, and detoxification capacity, revealing dysfunctions that contribute to oxidative stress, endothelial injury, and inflammation.

Key markers assess mitochondrial efficiency, methylation, nitric oxide balance, homocysteine and tryptophan metabolism, and DNA oxidation. This whole-system view helps identify early signs of metabolic and vascular stress, supporting precise strategies for cardiovascular protection and longevity.

Nutri-Stat – Nutritional & Metabolic Health Profile

The Nutri-Stat profile offers an integrated analysis of nutritional, hormonal, and cardiometabolic function, bridging traditional lipid profiling with advanced biochemical markers. It assesses cholesterol subfractions, apolipoproteins, triglycerides, and inflammatory markers such as hs-CRP and homocysteine, alongside thyroid, adrenal, and sex hormone balance. Combined with a full evaluation of amino acids, fatty acids, antioxidants, and toxin exposure, it provides a panoramic view of metabolic and vascular resilience.

Nutri-Stat helps pinpoint nutritional deficiencies, oxidative stress, detoxification limits, and hormonal influences that drive dyslipidaemia, atherosclerosis, and metabolic ageing, offering a roadmap for targeted prevention and personalised cardiovascular care.

MyDNA – Comprehensive Health Genetic Test

Your genetic profile can influence how your body regulates cholesterol, blood pressure, inflammation, and nutrient metabolism. The myDNA Comprehensive Health Genetic Test identifies variations associated with cardiovascular and metabolic risk, providing the foundation for a personalised prevention plan.

LIPOSCREEN®

LDL Subfractions & Oxidised LDL + HDL Subfractions

Full lipid subfractions with Liposcreen test for cardiovascular risk with Essencia Wellbeing NaturopathSydney

The LIPOSCREEN® test provides a detailed analysis of your lipid metabolism, identifying small, dense LDL particles that are more likely to penetrate vessel walls and contribute to plaque formation. It also measures oxidised LDL — a key indicator of vascular inflammation and oxidative stress — along with HDL subfractions to assess protective capacity.

What it Measures

  • LDL subfractions (1–7), HDL subfractions (1–10)

  • Oxidised LDL levels (vascular oxidative stress)

  • Lipoprotein(a), triglycerides, and cholesterol ratios

  • Mean particle size and LDL phenotype (A/B pattern)

Who Benefits

  • Individuals with personal or family history of heart disease or high cholesterol

  • Those with normal cholesterol but ongoing inflammation or metabolic concerns

  • Clients with diabetes, thyroid, or hormonal changes affecting lipid balance

  • Anyone focused on longevity, vascular health, or prevention

Why it’s Useful

  • Reveals hidden cardiovascular risk not evident in standard tests

  • Distinguishes protective vs atherogenic cholesterol patterns

  • Assists in targeting nutritional, lifestyle, and antioxidant therapies

  • Enables monitoring of lipid-lowering or anti-inflammatory interventions

Sample: Fasting Blood Serum from an approved pathology lab

Turnaround Time: 1–2 weeks

Supplier: Nutripath

Cardiovascular Testing FAQs

  • Standard cholesterol tests measure total LDL and HDL but don’t show whether your LDL particles are small and dense (more harmful) or large and buoyant (less harmful), nor do they assess oxidation or HDL function. Advanced cardiovascular testing uncovers these deeper patterns to reveal hidden risk.

  • Anyone with a personal or family history of heart disease, high cholesterol, diabetes, thyroid imbalance, or inflammation. It’s also ideal for clients seeking early prevention or tracking their progress on dietary and lifestyle programs.

  • Oxidised LDL occurs when “bad” cholesterol becomes damaged by oxidative stress. It promotes arterial plaque and vascular inflammation — key steps in atherosclerosis. Detecting and lowering oxidised LDL reduces cardiovascular risk.

  • Results help tailor dietary, lifestyle, and supplement strategies — from improving lipid metabolism and antioxidant capacity to supporting mitochondrial and hormonal balance — for comprehensive heart and metabolic health.

  • You’ll need to fast for 12 hours before your blood draw (water only). Samples must be taken between Monday and Wednesday to ensure timely delivery to the lab. Avoid alcohol and fatty meals the day before testing. Statin medication should ideally be withheld for two weeks prior, unless advised otherwise by your practitioner.

Discuss any other medications or supplements with your practitioner before the test.

  • Yes. Re-testing every 6–12 months can track improvements in lipid balance, inflammation, and oxidative stress in response to targeted interventions.
