  • The urine component adds metabolic and oxidative-stress markers that reflect how your body is processing nutrients and detoxifying. Combined with blood chemistry, this gives a more complete picture of health.

  • This test requires a fasted blood and urine sample.  Your urine sample is taken at home while your blood sample is conducted at an authorised pathology lab collection centre.

Testing requires 4 days of preparation in advance taking your samples with instructions provided in the collection kit.

  • PROCESS

This test requires a Monday or Tuesday morning collection of

    1.      A single urine sample - first morning urine then freeze while collecting blood

    2.      A single morning blood draw from local collection centre

The samples must be posted together on a Monday or Tuesday

Do not complete test during menstruation

If you are experiencing a urinary tract infection (UTI) , delay collection until after completing treatment and wait 5 days

Urine sample is to be frozen for at least 2 hours before posting

    Do not freeze blood samples.

    • Place the specimen transport bag in the freezer for at least 2 hours before posting.

  • 5 days before and during test - Discontinue Cortisol/glucocorticoid supplementation:

Certain medications such as asthma inhalers and hydrocortisone contain cortisol. To evaluate natural cortisol production, it is recommended to stop cortisol containing products 5 days prior to sample collection.

Never discontinue prescription medications without first consulting your doctor.
